Calgary50 company CropMind raises Pre-seed Round 🍎🍇🚜
CropMind has closed a $500,000 CAD pre-seed funding round led by the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation and BKR Capital.
CropMind uses AI, computer vision, and deep analytics to help farmers of specialty crops like apples and grapes to predict early in the growing season what their total crop will be. It means that harvesters and other players in the food supply chain have a good idea of what to expect in the autumn. The goal is to allow them to line up the proper staff and ensure they have the right capacity for shipping, packaging or bottling. The company plans use the proceeds to launch pilot projects in Quebec and B.C., and bring new AI-powered tools like disease detection and grape cluster estimation to market.
CropMind is part of Calgary50 - Scale Up Canada’s most scalable startups list.
